New tyres from Yokohama
Tokyo-based Yokohama tyres have introduced five brand new tyre models, designed for the European market. The big announcement was scheduled to happen at the Geneva Motor Show, which was cancelled due to coronavirus. Instead, Yokohama held a live online conference to break the news.
The new Yokohama tyre range consists of summer and winter tyres, designed for passenger cars and SUVs.
Five new models
Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51: A premium quality summer tyre that enhances the vehicle’s stability when driving at high speeds. It also offers excellent dry & wet grip along with improved fuel efficiency. Popular touring tyre sizes will have B rolling resistance and A wet grip ratings on the EU label.
BluEarth GT AE51 will come as a factory chosen tyre in size 205 60 r16 on the latest Mazda 3 vehicles. Mazda 3 will be sold with Yokohama tyres all over Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.
Yokohama Geolandar CV G058: Crossover-SUV tyre coming to European markets this spring. When compared to predecessor models, the G058 offers improved grip on wet roads. It also ensures better driving comfort and reduced rolling noise.
Sipes based tread pattern will increase the traction and reduce the risk of uneven wear – leading to longer life of the tyre.
Yokohama BluEarth-XT AE61: Yet another crossover-SUV tyre introduced this spring. It designed to serve the best urban commuter. Yokohama BluEarth-XT AE61 quickly responds to sharp manoeuvres on city roads as well as smooth and comfy experience on the motorway.
BluEarth Winter V906 & iceGuard Studless iG53 are both winter tyres, designed for continental Europe. Due to a mild climate, these two tyres are unlikely to be available in Ireland any time soon.
Yokohama’s BluEarth tyres are produced with adhering to these common factors: environmentally, human, and socially friendly.
Yokohama is now one of the world-leading tyre brands, recognised by vehicle makers worldwide. Yokohama tyres are now factory fitted on the latest saloons, SUVs and sports cars.
