Summer Tyre Test Results

 

With mild weather approaching, it did not take long for Germans to start testing summer tyres. Earlier this month, AMS (Auto Motor und Sport) has taken 3 Series BMW to the tracks, to find the best summer tyre in ultra high performance (UHP) range.

Here’s our overview of overall winners and losers, as well as breakdown results of various tests performed.

Overall Results

 

1^st: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 – Overall Score: 53.7 points.

Dry Handling: 9.8/10, Wet 9.5/10, Comfort 9/10, Rolling Resistance 6/10, Noise 10/10, Overall Performance 9.4.

 

2^nd: Pirelli P Zero – Overall Score: 51 points.

3^rd: Continental Premium Contact 6 – Overall Score: 51.3

5^th: Falken Azenis FK510 – Overall Score: 47.4 points.

6^th: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 – Overall Score: 49 points.

7^th: Toyo Proxes Sport – Overall Score: 47.6 points

8^th: Vredestein Ultrac Satin – Overall Score: 44.3 points.

9^th: Dunlop SportMaxx RT2 – Overall Score: 43.5 points.

10^th: Maxxis Premitra HP5 – Overall Score: 40 points

Auto Motor und Sport weight the scores 50% wet, 40% dry and 10% rolling resistance/noise.
