Hankook impresses with the all-new winter tyre range

Premium tyre maker Hankook has introduced three new types of winter tyres engineered for the European markets. The new models are named “winter I*cept RS2”, “winter I*cept Evo2” and the winter I*pike RS2”.  All three tyres received excellent feedback from the various industry media outlets in Germany, Sweden, UK, Russia and Finland. Additionally, Hankook led many of the European winter tyre tests.

The Winter I*cept RS2

Hankook’s Winter I*cept RS2 has led multiple tyre tests in central and western Europe. The tyre has been praised by the German and English tyre industry magazines for the handling and braking performance.

Quoting Auto Motor Sport from Germany, the Winter I*cept proved to have a powerful grip as well as being significantly reliable and precise. Another German magazine Autobild quoted Hankook winter tyre to be excellent in all weather conditions. Lastly, UK’s Auto Express praised them for their safety and manageability on wet and dry road surfaces.

The Winter I*cept Evo2

This particular Hankook tyre comes classed as a UHP type (ultra-high performance). During the winter tyre tests, the Winter I*cept Evo2 impressed with the excellent braking and snowy surfaces and offering superb handling when cornering at speed. It was listed as an exemplary performer on the snow.

i*Pike RS2 for Scandinavia

Lastly, the i*Pike RS2 winter tyres are a studded type, designed for the harsh winter conditions in Scandinavian and Russian markets. Likewise, the earlier two models, the i*Pike scored well in the tyre tests across the Northeast of Europe.  Due to its structure, this particular tyre won’t be available in the Irish market.

New winter testing facility

Hankook’s winter tyre success is primarily based on the all-new winter tyre testing facility in Finland. It opened in early 2017 in the Ivalo town, and it is now home to research and development of the winter tyres for the European markets.
